Chrysler Group LLC has confirmed it will make a $300 million investment in its Kokomo facilities to produce a new fuel-efficient eight-speed automatic transmission. The automaker says it is the largest U.S. investment since the new Chrysler was formed last year. The decision will help retain nearly 1,200 jobs in Kokomo. United Auto Workers Region 3 Director Mo Davison says the investment could have long term implications.
