07.06.10 New life is on the way for the failed Chrysler-Getrag Transmission plant in Tipton County. Colorado-based Abound Solar Inc. announced Saturday it will locate a solar module manufacturing operation in the now vacant plant with plans to add 850 jobs by 2013. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says the deal represents a $500 million investment. When complete, the Tipton location will be the largest solar panel manufacturing facility in the United States. news index
